HÜB FOR COMMUNITY

Our New Home

In 2021, IFSSA moved to its new location! It's exciting! Our hearts are full of hope, and our minds full of the possibilities.

IFSSA will consolidate our three locations (South Warehouse, The Green Room, North Warehouse) into one central hub to house our staff and serve our clients and community. Bringing us under one roof will allow for more fruitful collaboration, centralize our accessibility, and provide a welcoming home for our clients and community. We want to do this right so that the foundations for this new space are long-lasting and sustainable.

We invite you - our community - to dream and imagine with us. Over the next coming week, we will be looking at our community members to support us in envisioning our hub, guiding our process and providing expertise. Stay connected with us through this journey by following this page and our social media accounts.

To a fresh start! We begin with Bismillah: in the name of the Most Compassionate.

WHERE IS THE NEW IFSSA HUB?

Our new address is #2-786, 10545 108 St NW

We are located right behind MacEwan University, and just one block away from the LRT. IFSSA's new warehouse will be located on the ground floor, and continues to serve as a food depot, serving those most in need.

The top floor is a collaborative hub and serve as a therapeutic space for community, creativity and service. The Green Room also runs from this new collaborative community hub!

The Timeline

The Green Room Moves

Our staff are busy at work, packing up our central location and The Green Room this month, in preperation for the big move at the end of January. Staff working from this office will continue working from home for the time being, as we continue to offer engaging programming online.

Community Consultations

Throughout this month, we will be working closely with our board, staff, and community stakeholders to better understand the needs of the new hub. We will be conducting numerous online workshops, speaking with design and building, and putting together our team of contractors and interior designers!

Design

March will be all about design. We will put together a professional and talented team of architectes, engineers, contractors, and interior designers to help bring our ideas to life. This team will present their concept designs and ideas to our team, staff, and community, before we make a final decision and begin building.

Permits & Construction

One of the most critical parts of construction and building is making sure that all the proper permits are successfully received from the City. We will spend April applying for permits and making sure all of our paperwork is ready to go, before we begin construction.
